about

I am Ripplepelt, you probably know me from Ww and/or my blog; Inspirational Dreams. I have decided to set up a side-blog to document my journey through NaNoWriMo and writing!

If you would like to contact me for any reason, please either private message me on Ww [if you are a Wwer], email me at einsteingirl_123@yahoo.com, or IM me on AIM at laurelbbnj or laurelmstn@hotmail.com on MSN.

welcome

Well, NaNoWriMo is over, unfortunately - and I have won! If you would like to read or review my novel, please do so by clicking the link at the side. I do not need any editors at the moment though, I have a very good editor already attacking my story with editing daggers. From now on, the site will be named "A Writer's Dreams" and I will be posting any prose or writing I have written up here [usually, I will provide a link to where I have posted it on dA or Ww]. You do not need to read them, though I would really like it. ^^

Monday, December 15, 2008 - Happy Be-Earlied Birthday, Creamy! <3 :

Yeah, since I'm leaving soon [see leaving thread in intro board for details - I know, intro board, wtf?] and don't know exactly when I'll be able to get on the computer to give her this - I'm not taking the risk of getting it to her late by giving it to her weeks and weeks early! 8D

See here or here to read it. And if you do, please comment! ^^

I loves you, Creamsquish. <3

Sunday, December 14, 2008 - STOP YELLING. I HATE IT. :

-fumes-

My dad was yelling at my mom last night...So I wrote a poem about it. Either go here for the thread with the poem and a rant explaining it underneath....or here for just the poem. Or here if you prefer deviantART.

Thanks to everyone who read my She Falls Asleep piece. =3

Saturday, December 13, 2008 - She Falls Asleep :

Whoa, I've finally started writing again. This time - I've been inspired by a song: "She Falls Asleep" by McFly. It's about a girl committing suicide.

Either go here or here to view it. ^^

Note - I am not suicidal. Any emotions and actions in here do not correspond to my feelings whatsoever. So, don't get your head all in a tizzy.

Saturday, November 29, 2008 - Where do I go now? :

At this point, I have finished my whole entire first draft at 55,553 words. This month has passed so quickly, and I thank NaNoWriMo a lot for that.

Because last November, Force left for Thailand, and I went through a pretty unhappy period of time. With NaNo's help this year, I got through my unhappy phase quite quickly when Force went to Thailand, and my views were put more in perspective as I wrote of my characters' problems.

Before I continue on, I'd like to address a ton of thanks to everyone that has helped me through this event or has made this event possible.

I thank Chris Baty for developing this wonderful idea, I thank all who have donated to NaNoWriMo to keep it running, I thank all the other participants (past or present) that have helped keep this event alive, and I thank anyone who helps/helped in organizing and establishing this event.

But also, I thank Ww for introducing the event to me, and really showing myself - I can be a writer, and I can like writing. I have always liked writing and have been pretty good at it, but I never really adored it or enjoyed it like I do now. I disliked writing class with a passion (I guess mostly cause we were writing essays, but no matter) and I would have never even thought of ever joining anything that has to do with writing.

I started doing NaNo last year, but could not continue. But this year, I sailed right through it. I have grown to love writing so much and the joy it brings. I am in Writing Club, and a proud member of it. I love Composition Seminar (a writing class) and dread the day when we will have to move on to Computers (not that I hate computers, I love it [even if I know everything already], but I would hate to leave the CompSem class).

But most of all, I thank my friends for supporting me and not thinking me crazy (and even if they did, they kept it to themselves). They agreed to read my novel, and one best friend, Force, has even agreed to editing it. To have such a great writer help edit my novel is truly a great honor for me. I thank him for being my number one supporter, as well as Creamy who supported me a whole lot as well - also Windy, Bookie, Silvee, Squirrel, Allaire and so many others on Ww. Thank you Bookie for being my number one blog-follower, and for putting that idea in my mind from the start! You've been a great friend, and I'm glad NaNoWriMo has brought us closer. I thank my frineds a great deal for encouraging me, or I may never have finished.

Now - where do I go from here? What will I do with my writing, and will I continue even though NaNoWriMo is over (we still have 2 more days, but since I've finished, it's pretty much over for me)?

First off, I will be uploading my novel up on nanowrimo.org for print (which is why I am hurriedly editing right now, so that my printed will be some good work - I hope we get at least a week or more for that though). And I will be giving my work to my friends to read and so on.

But will I continue? I believe I will. I think, after editing my novel and such - I will try on another novel. I will not write as feverishly and try to get it all done in one month (with 50,000 words or more to boot) but I will continue writing. I will edit my current novel throughout December, and once that is finished, I will work on developing a new idea. I wrote medieval fantasy last time, I might try a fanfiction next, or a realistic fiction, or a science fiction - who knows? Only time will tell. But I can certainly say - I will continue writing.

My parents have told me not to do NaNoWriMo next year, that I need to focus more on my studies. BAH. I will most definitely do it anyway.

But what about from here 'til then? I think I will start off the New Year by writing another novel? I don't have any ideas in mind, but I know that will come to me in time. I might write short stories, but those aren't as fun as novels, I have found.

This blog will not be updated and revived until next year, though. Under this name, of course. Since I will be continuing to write, I will change the title at the end of the month into A Writer's Dreams, to flow with the root title - Inspirational Dreams. What do you all think of that title? =D

And I will continue to update this blog with information about how I'm doing with novels and writing, and such. So, please do not abandon it on December 1st, never to look at it again - I will most likely be updating. ^^ I believe I will host up a Freewebs site, sharing any short stories or poems I write, too. I will think on that one.

Thank you for watching my blog throughout this November (and I hope you all continue to do so)! And thank you for supporting me through NaNoWriMo!

For those people who have won - Go you! I congratulate you very much! And I hope you continue to write like I have decided as well!

For those people who haven't - Continue, continue, continue! Don't stop! And even if you're nowhere near 50,000 words and know you will not make it - still continue to write whenever you can. And I hope you will all continue writing it into December to finish it, for stopping in the middle would be such a shame.

For everyone - NaNo's been a pleasure, more so than a stress-enducer. I hope we come together again next year to write a novel again!

I will no longer just say "Happy NaNoing", I will say "Happy Writing"

So, Happy Writing everyone! =D

Monday, November 24, 2008 - VICTORY IS MINEMINEMINE! :

I WIN I WIN I WIN

I feel like I just won the lottery. XD

Really. I HAVE 50,328 words!!!!

I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN.

I just have a conclusion to write, which will take up a few thousand words, but I will most likely be adding a lot when I go back and edit. [ESPECIALLY having FORCE as my editor...GRAH. He pretty much added 1,500 words in comments to my 750-word prologue]

BUT. I'm just so happy that I WIN I WIN I WIN.

-does the Ripple happy dance that no one else can master- WAHOO!

I apologize for the craziness in this post. My next post tomorrow or something will probably be discussing what I will be doing next with writing. But today, I just want to celebrate. =3

HAPPY NANOING!

Sunday, November 23, 2008 - THE END IS NEAR. :

It is November 27th. We have one more week to write our NaNo novels.

WILL WE DO IT?

I bet I will.

I have 48,011 words! My goal right now is not to reach 50,000 words, but to completely finish my story - and with time to spare to read it all over and edit. [plus, Force is gonna be editing my NaNo (that means a month of editing, considering his skills as a beta]. I wonder how long we will have to upload our novels to get it printed, because if I have to upload it on Dec 1, the novel won't be that great, because it still needs a lot of editing. And I don't want it printed as an unedited version. -frown-

I don't have much left of my story to write, but I still have one big scene to write [the climax =o], and the little conclusion to wrap it all up. Hopefully, I will be able to do that. =3

...HAPPY NANOING! XD

Sunday, November 16, 2008 - Whoooohoooo! :

YEAH!

Yesterday, I didn't get to write much at all - at least for the first 3/4 of the day [actually, even more]. I had two Chinese tests back to back during Chinese school [so basically, my whole three hours spent there was tests, tests, tests x3], so I didn't get to work on my NaNo. And when I came back, I just wanted to have a good rest. XD So I wandered around making graphics, talking to people, etc.

But just last night, from around 10:30/11:00 to 12:00, I wrote, wrote, wrote after I got to my mom's house. My mom doesn't have a router, so I could only use a LAN connection if I wanted to go on the internet. And she didn't let me. She said I could write my novel, but I couldn't go on the 'net. At first I was kinda POed, but I thank her now. I got 3,020 words done that night. That's the fastest I've ever written!

And that ended my total of that night with - 38,127 words!

At this point, I am at a total of 39,543 words. I need to eat lunch now, but because my mom is awesome, I will be eating while I write, and I will hopefully be able to get a lot more done before I have to go back home. [and once I get back there, I really need to finish up my poster and my LAR HW XD]

Again - Happy NaNoing, and I hope that everyone has passed the halfway mark! <3
